Soon there will be war. Millions will burn. Millions will perish in sickness and misery. Why does one death matter against so many? Because there is good and there is evil, and evil must be punished. Even in the face of Armageddon I shall not compromise in this. But there are so many deserving of retribution...and there is so little time.

I am no one, and this all means nothing.

People sure are eager to categorize you, aren’t they? To define you in a way they can easily understand — put you in a box where they’ll feel confident that they can find you forever afterward, whether you concur with their assessment of you or not.

It starts when you’re young: your elementary-school teachers want to know whether you’re a jock or a brainiac. In high school, they decide what you’re about based on whether you take shop or home ec. In college, they can’t wait for you to choose a major so they can consign you to a career and a future.

Sometimes, it works: the box you end up in is the box where you actually should be. But that’s not to say you couldn’t try out other boxes, and identities, if you got a mind to.
